South Indian Style Mix Biryani

Ingredients
- Chicken/mutton or lamb 500grms
- 4 medium size onions sliced
- 4 medium size Tomatoes (roughly chopped)
- 1Tbsp yogurt (Dahi)
- 1/2 a lemon juice
- 1 cup chopped coriander and mint leaves
- 3 green chillies sliced ( Can add more depending on the spice preference)
- 2 cups of basmati biryani rice
- 2 tbsp adark lasan paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder (Adjust according to taste)
- 1/4 tsp haldi powder (Adjust according to taste)
- 2 tsp coriander powder (Adjust according to taste)
- salt
- 4-5 lavang (colves)
- 2 elaichi
- 2 tej pata
- 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
Method
1. Marinate the meat with 1tbsp adrak lasan paste and salt at least for 30 mins
2. Heat about 3-4 tbsp of oil in a cookware and add onions. Saute it until the onions are soft
3. Add sukha garam masala (lavang, elaichi, tej pata and Taj) along with the remaing adarak lasan paste, green chili and cook for a min
4. Add all the masala ( red chilli powder, dhana, haldar) & salt mix well and let it cook for a min
5. Add half cup coriander & mint leaves (khotmir & phudino) mix well. Next add Dahi and lemon juice mix well and cook for a min.
6. Add marinated meat. Cover and cook until the meat is half cooked. The meat should break.
7. Add water (as much as required to cook rice) about 2-3 cups. Once the water is hot add soaked basmati rice.
8. Add the remaining kothmir phudino and cover and cook for 15-20 mins on low flame.
You can also pressure cook it for 5 mins.
Serve with Dahi kachumbar
